Yesterday started off less than fabulous for me : ( without going into lot’s of gory details….I will share that my biggest speed bump was not being able to print pages I needed to prepare for my next class. But I was determined not to let it get me down…..never never stop being awesome right???? So I went into the shop with Plan B in motion. I would treat myself to one of my new inspiration kits and have a carefree relaxing day of crafting and visiting with my very dear friend Brandy.
I came up with 4 spooktacular tags for my Halloween tree using bits from the kit and items from my Halloween scrap and salvage box. I think they are very vintagy…just the way I like em.
For this tag I added a glittery spiderweb, a tiny clothespin and a big chunky striped rosette. All the paper was from the scraps box. I used a base of extra sturdy box board so it will last for a long long time. There’s also some great sheer organza from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
For this tag I added some fussy cut items from a tag sheet, parts from the kit, another rosette, more of the ribbon, and topped it off with buttons. There’s also some orange mesh trim.
This one is my favorite : ) That vintage image is soo cute!!!! These tags turned out to be 6 x 4 inches!
For this tag I added a crocheted black flower to the top of the rosette and topped it off with a fun button. I am really diggin that crepe fringe : )
So for a day that I though was going to be a complete loss…it turned out pretty great. Not sure yet how I’m going to hang these….or if I’ll just add these to the shop and make more for myself. They are kinda on the large size for a tree decoration…or are they??? LOL
Here is the kit by the way….All the images are printed on 65 lb weight cardstock so they’re super sturdy. I’m going to add fringe to everything I make now….okay that may be a bit of an exaggeration. All of these pieces mix and match so you can create your own fabulous projects!
Okay that’s all for me…I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
I know you are thinking….”but Ginny is a cat person???” Yep…that’s true. But I love all pets…they’re part of our family. I would love to have a dog…but we are currently at our pet to people ratio maximum. So either someone has to move in….or no doggie for me : ( Which leads me to the reason for this post. I’m sharing some great cards I’ve created especially to be sold at our local Dogfest to benefit the Pug Rescue Network…a cause near and dear to my heart as my very very special friend Anna works tirelessly to keep that very worthy organization going : ) So this is for the pugs…and Anna I love ya millions!!!!
This one is my favorite…since every pug want’s a home for the holidays…and someone to love them…and snacks…they really want snacks!
This little guy is so sweet I just want to smooch all over him.
Truck Dog lol. This one should go over well in Pinckney right???
Shabby Pugalicious? Don’t mind if I do!
No comments telling me this is a Boston Terrier…I already know lol…but he matched that plaid paper right???
Love this one…very retro. Dog’s in Santa hats….groovy.
That’s one dashing dude don’t ya think??
Aweee I want a Christmas card from this little fella : )
These are just some of the cards Polly’s will have available at Dogfest. You can find them sharing space with Anna and Anja’s fabulous Doggie creations. Hopefully we will raise lot’s of money for the network….as the last few pugs they rescued required major surgeries and their vet bill is getting high : ( If you’re a local Polly’s Peep and want to help us girls out….you can create a dog inspired arts or craft project and drop it off at the shop before Thursday Sept 12th. Every little bit helps…a special thanks to Pam who has already generously contributed a fabulous Scotty Dog Card : ) You are awesome Pam!!!! Any cards made by me that don’t get sold will be put in the etsy shop for non-locals to get a chance at…and of course all proceeds of these special cards will be going to the Network.
Here’s a quick link to the Dogfest Facebook page. You should hop over and check them out. You may remember the Dog Park from previous posts…my Son Alex’s Eagle Scout Service Project was to build the beautiful gazebo at the Dog Park for the folks to enjoy some shelter while their doggies played.
Hello there : ) I’m just popping in to share a few of the cards we created in out last class.
This card has nice warm fall colors and ton’s of cut work. Pretty patterned papers and vintage images. I added some beautiful Brown Gingham ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to accent as well as a tiny clip from Tim Holtz.
The mischievous little girl on this card looks like she is just about ready to sneak a taste of that pie on the shelf! This card had a very layered bow of Brown Sheer Stripe a hand sewn canvas flower, Olive Seam Binding, a crocheted flower and button.
This one is very traditionally styled. There are lot’s of patterns here…but they don’t look too busy since I bordered them in chocolaty brown card stock. Last but not least an inked sunflower and Brown Trim.
That’s it for now….I’ll share a few more tomorrow : ) The really big news is Bonnie is having a sale over at Really Reasonable Ribbon….so head on over and pick up your coupon code here.
I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative! : ) G
Yes…I know it’s early…..but I’ve been working on kits for the shop so I’m in the mood for a little Halloween crafting. I created some chipboard frames with lot’s of embellishments, vintage images and great trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon. They were loads of fun to make and I think they would be a great addition to a mantle or hanging on a shelf or a Halloween tree. This year I’m hopefully going to add a Halloween tree to my seasonal decor….if I can find one that’s vintagy.
This little girl in her overcoat showing off her jack-o-lantern is super cute!!!! I’ve sewn the crepe and tinsel trim and added it to the bottom of my frame. I accented the shabby chic colors with Black Gingham Ribbon.
Loving these big poofy bows!!!!!
This woman is so stern looking…I’ll just bet she was a witchy witch. This image is from Graphic’s Fairy
Okay…that’s it for my Halloweeny frames. Bonnie has the bestest selection of trims for Halloween….and you can never get started too early on your holiday crafting so you’ll have lot’s of handmade creations to decorate with and give to your friends and family.
I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative. : ) G
Okay…I’ve been busy typing my fingers to the bone to get the reserved listings ready for the Halloween Banner. For those who have already left me a comment to save their kit just click on the link below with you name to go right to your listing : )
The Peeps have spoken…and I listened. They want to start Halloween projects. I’m not one to rush the season too much…. to be fair…I did see a large tree by the lake with the leaves changing to a brilliant fiery orange. Who am I to question Mother Nature???
Our first Halloween project is an awesometacular vintagy banner. That is awesome. Just sayin. lol I think this is my most favoritest Halloween project I have made so far : )
Okay…so the low down for this spooktacular banner. There is 40 separate vintage images, glitter, crepe, tinsel trim, buttons trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon, tiny clothes pins, goodies from Tim Holtz, punches, and hand crafted washi tape. There are 5 large banner elements, all different but coordinating, 16 hang tags. And very fun and dimensional crepe fringe ( hand crafted be your truly.) The web of spider image is from Graphic’s Fairy
There has been lot’s of pre-registers already….so unfortunately there is only one seat available for this class on Tuesday 27th of August at 6 pm. If you’d like to stop in and check out the rest of the banner and save your seat…. or just give me a buzz at the shop. Cost for this class is $30. I do not recommend this class for beginners as there are so so many elements.
In the next day or two I’ll be adding this kit to the etsy shop for those of you who are not local but still want to make this great Halloweeny banner : ) I will be listing 14 kits. If you would like to have a kit reserved for you…simply leave a comment on this post and I’ll create a special listing just for you! This will be a great addition to your seasonal decor!
I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
