Vintage Mini With Tags

Standard

I had such a good time yesterday having a play date with my peeps. I even managed to get something done haha. I created this sweet little mini with pockets and tags : )

The little girl image is from the Graphics Fairy. She is so stinkin cute!!! I layered her over a lovely sticker from Glitz and typography paper from Jenni Bowlin. I added a punched decorative edge and real vintage buttons. I created the little brackets with hand me downs from my dear friend Jane. A little paint and some perfect pearls and voila! Inside are pockets with tags.

And a couple of pages for pictures or journaling.

Plenty of room on the ends to tuck in pictures or memorabilia.

The base for this little book is brown craft paper….the best neutral in my opinion for shabby chic.

Shabby Chic Holiday Decor For the Shop

Standard

I’ve been working on getting some holiday displays done for the shop. This particular hutch wanted to be filled with dreamy shabby soft colors and vintage finds. I think I was really decorating it for my Dear friend Jane who hasn’t been able to come play paper for the last few weeks and I miss her : (  She is truly the queen of shabby chic and all things vintage. Maybe she will be feeling better and come in next week to see. I still have to finish the bottom shelf….but I have committed to using things that are already in my stash…or can be an altered item to look vintage.

I do love those vintage snowmen ( and lady.) I added a sweet little bottle brush tree, pretty birds and tree ornaments to a silver candy serving tray.  Of course there’s flowers in a creamy yellow, some candles and a fairy wand, some milk glass and a few sparkly ornaments tucked in.  The next shelf down has just a bowl of silver pine cones for now. A customer in my shop yesterday grabbed a handful of them and set them on the counter to purchase. Yikes!!! Note to self….must make a sign for the display tomorrow. LOL.

Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving!!!

A New Toy!!!

Standard

My dear Friend Anja came by the shop today to play paper with me and brought me a great little gift!  For all the tools that I have in my arsenal….I did not have a corner rounder. And with all new toys….I did have to use it on all me projects today : )

This first card made especially for Annie for her kind support and generous contribution made to help provide a meal for the friends and family of my Husband’s  after the memorial service for his Father 2 weeks ago. I stamped on the green flourish pattern and used a lovely butterfly image from Graphics Fairy. I think it’s pairs beautifully with the chocolate brown paper layers : )

This was a card created totally from the scrap and salvage box. I love the colors. Notice the rounded corners? LOL Thanks Anja : )

I really love the retro colors of this card. It’s super cheerful: ) I made the flower from bits cut out of a page with cut apart tags on it. The paper is from Cosmo Crickett. The buttons are real vintage and go so well with that cutie patootie little girl image.

Crate Paper Boy’s Smash Book

Standard

I will admit that I get by with a little help from my friends. I started this project….then let it sit on my work table for a few days with little motivation to finish it. My dear friend Carol had other ideas. Maybe it was when I tried to convince her to just take over and complete the book for me. Ha…..seems my ability to con other people into doing my work is slipping. Dang. With gentle persuasion( nagging) I stayed at work and she helped me bring this cute book past the finish line.

The cover is chipboard and the paper is from Crate….my fav for boy paper. I added a large B cut on the cricut and fun chipboard.

A Smashing Good Time!!

Standard

I had myself a super awesometacular day at the shop. My very

dear friend Lisa from Muskegan came to town to surprise me!!

Yayyy!!!

Well of course we had to play paper. Funny thing is I thought I was getting

a little bored of working on Christmas projects…..but  Karen

from Graphics Fairy keeps adding wonderful holiday images for us to share.

So…… Lisa and I made SMASH BOOKS : )

The sweet Santa image is framed with chipboard that

I painted and inked the glittered.  I added several layers of

pretty and well inked papers. Vintage buttons of course and a

silvery metal key charm.  Nice big sentiment letters and

snowflake.

I love adding different sized pages so all the layers show. Fun dimensional stickers add

bulk and the tattered edge of the page adds texture.

These large bingo cards have been a lot of fun to work with : )

Have to admit…I am in love with this chartreuse pom pom trim. The pocket opens

to add more goodies to the book.

Die cut page from Lilly Bee is a nice detail.

I did add a generous amount of printed tape. This page has rubons too!

Last page has lot’s of room for pics and journaling.

Back cover is nice and simple.

Okay…..so here is a list of fun things I would smash in this book if it

were mine to keep…

Cup hugger from first peppermint mocha of the season

from my favorite coffee house and who I shared it with and the date.

Tickets to holiday movies or musicals.

Flyer from holiday band performance.

My kiddos Dear Santa Letters.

Pictures of kiddos in funny holiday hats.

Picture of new grey kitten climbing the Christmas  tree .

List of our favorite shows of the year….compare list from last year!

List of favorite songs. Compare list to 10 years ago : )

Hubby’s dear Santa list.

My dear Santa list.

Small map to mark where all the family is living. Mine are in Texas : (

Favorite new holiday recipe.

Picture of first snow of the season.

Picture of the kiddo’s first snowman of the season.

Pictures of me getting pelted with snowballs by kiddos while

trying to capture first snowman image.

4 furry beasts dressed in kitty sized reindeer antlers.

Pics of family who came for Christmas dinner….hopefully wearing

kitty sized reindeer antlers.

First victim of too much desert falling asleep on the couch while

everyone else points and laughs.

Okay so the list goes on and on….but if I finish this post I can go

sit by the fire and have a nice glass of wine and wait for the home Peeps

to get back from Boy Scouts.

Thanks again to Lisa who made my day!!!!
