My friend Jennifer who owns the beautiful quilt shop here in town stopped in this week to see if we had anything apple inspired. She has a lovely display in her shop with some vintage and country styled quilts, and the cutest little picket fence ever. Also there are paintings and all kinds of fun apple finds. She is so kind to gather some of my handcrafted items to use in her wonderful displays. So I thought it might be fun to use some of her fabulous fabrics and combine them with my papers and embellishments and create something for her little corner of the quilt world. Hope she like it. I also incorporated some fancy leaf shaped pins…to tie into the sewing theme.
I cut out the apples from her fabric and stabilized them on thick cardstock. My inspiration was what you might see on the end of an apple crate…you know the farmers label? I used lot’s of layers of paper to form the banner…then added some pretty antique colored lace trim. The apple toppers have such pretty vibrant color : )
Here is where I added the leaf pins : ) I used some sheet music printed from the Graphics Fairy and made a ruffled paper base…then added a mocha colored flower, and a button with string. A little seam binding for added detail.
