To those folks who do not make handcrafted items this might seem a little too early to begin to prepare for the holidays. For those of us drawn by the need to be creative…it’s just about right. I’ve begun to stockpile supplies…pretty papers….sparkly things…images that remind us of memories or emotions. That is just the case with this image from Graphic Fairy. It’s a retro Santa that looks just like a set of oh so sweet salt and pepper shakers that belonged to my Grandmother. Not sure how far the memories go back…I was little, and we didn’t get to spend holidays with this side of the family often. They belong to my Mom now….they sit on the back of her stove during Christmas. Just love their charming little faces.
I made this organizer with staggered pockets to hold recipe cards, and some fun little holiday bingo cards. There’s a large chipboard poinsettia with jingle bells, buttons with string, and retro tinsel trim. This would be a great way to share your favorite Christmas cookie recipes! The paper is from Pink Paislee. The bingo cards are from Jenni Bowlin Mercantile. The recipe cards were a great after holiday sale find, and lovingly packed away until needed.
