Nautical Card for Father’s Day

Here is a card I made for Father’s Day. I chose soft colors and simple patterns to accent the great sailboat image from Graphics Fairy. As you can see…I’m still having fun with the sewing machine a.k.a. “the beast” I’ve also added several chipboard elements to give a more dimensional look.

Shabby Chic Collage

I started this collage with images from Graphics Fairy. I really love the French ledger sheet in the background so I choose all the other colors to coordinate. The silvery flourishes are hand stamped and the chipboard pieces are inked and distressed. There’s a little dimensional piece in there too from Pink Paislee. Finally I added the typed words and ribbon to the key. The base is mat board so it’s extra sturdy even without a frame.

I Finally Did It!!!!

I’ve been planning to get the sewing machine going to stitch on some cards for like ever. The problem with that is I am just not a sewing type person. Never took the time to do it right so I was always discouraged with my projects that had unsuccessful attempts at stitching.

Until today!!!

I got the beast(what I refer to my sewing machine as) out and actually managed to get the bobbin thread through!!! YAY ME!!! So then I set about trying to sew at least a straight line. Not so good for the first try. But try try again and voila!!!! I am lovin the results.

Isn’t that just like the cutest card ever???? I did layer on some fun papers, lace and trim, buttons with string, and some pretty little flowers. Last but not least…chipboard corners! : )

I listed this card in the Etsy shop.

Patriotic Tag Set

A lovely friend of mine called yesterday to request a pair of patriotic tags. They should match…but don’t make them the same. So I found these two awesome images from Graphics Fairy and set to work! Jenni Bowlin paper is just perfect for Americana. There’s a little Pink Paislee in there too. Buttons flowers and string are a must! Hope she loves em too!

Sweet Gift Card/ Tag Holder

Isn’t this a sweet little girl on the front of this card/tag holder??? Another wonderful image from Graphics Fairy!!!

I mounted it on a nice chunky piece of chipboard and layered it on top of my favorite polka dot from Lily Bee. Some beautiful vintage inspired lace from Melissa Philips, a ephemera piece from Pink Paislee and last but not least a cute flower with button center.

Patriotic Collage Wall Hanging

I started making a great little patriotic mini album yesterday but just couldn’t get it right. After many attempts without success I just laid out he pages to have a look at them all together and there was my solution!!! It didn’t want to be a book…it wanted to be a wall hanging : ) I used lot’s of buttons and flowers and chipboard and ephemera images. Red white and blue…but in warmer tones for an Americana look. It’s mounted on mat board for extra sturdiness. I topped it all off with an awesome little banner on red twine!

Owning to the need to put even more layers and papers and fun stuff in my mini albums I guess they will have to be called mediums instead. LOL ( I crack myself up!!!)
