Pretty wall hangings

These are some pretty little wall hangings.  They were originally in a set of three…but one of Polly’s favorite supporters selected one to purchase last week. Thank you Pat!!! I do have an addiction to chipboard as you can see.  These sweet little chip elements are from BasicGrey. The paper is also…they are from the Curio collection. I layered  lot’s of paper patterns on a picture mat board so it’s very sturdy. I added some of my fav clipart too…for the vintage appeal. The flourish chip elements are from Maya Road. I just rubbed them with Distress Ink for the perfect finished look. The felt flowers are accented with some bling centers from Petaloo and a glass headed pin from Maya Road. They hang on a simple wide grosgrain ribbon.

Vintage Valentine

I added a lot of embellishments to the cover of this little book. The hearts are all chipboard that I covered and inked. The larger heart has xoxoxo stamped around then wrapped in a bit of string. Most of the paper on the front is from Pink Paislee. A little trim goes a long way. There is actually 6 layers of paper…oh my!

The first set of pages is really a pocket. I used my new—old fashioned style typewriter to spell out “how do I love thee” There are two pull out tags here that look like vintage postal cards. Great place for journaling and pictures. I added a Jenni Bowlin calendar sheet( I cut the red off from around the outside) A bit of layering and trim and a cute flower. I marked the 14th with a sweet little metal charm. The tag on the right pulls out.  It’s the length of the page so plenty of room there.

More flowers, buttons, ribbon and string. I covered a nice sized piece of chipboard with pretty paper, inked it and added the cherish rub on. I really do like the next pocket…It’s a glassine sleeve. I mounted it on paper for extra stability. Little card on the front is for sweet nothings. 2 pull out tags. I just love the chipboard heart covered in old book paper and inked. Last pages offers enough space for a nice large picture of your sweetie! I used Jenni Bowlin paper here.

Back cover is just nice and simple. I think the vintage color is just right! The binder rings are also vintage looking…not too shiny. –

This pic shows all the pull out tags. I just love how they look like they have been in and old trunk in someones attic.

Pretty Family Mini

Sweet and simple family mini. I just

love these chipboard pieces. I shaved the

sides a bit and inked them to match. : )

A little ribbon trim accent really dresses

up the front cover. Not too girly…just right!

First set of pages has a pocket on the

left. Perfect for tucking in a picture

or a journal card. Who doesn’t like

polka dots????

This set of pages has plenty of room

to add bigger pictures. More Chip-

board too. Don’t you love the colors?

Another pocket on this set too.

The dot pattern is from Chloe’s

Closet. Love it!!!!

Last set of pages…More cute

chipboard!!! The green graph paper

on the page would make a great place to

journal! There’s a pocket  here too!

Back is covered to coordinate with the front!

It’s a nice finished look. And so charming.

Scooter saves the day!!!!

Jonathan finally found Little Big Planet 2 at Costco yesterday!!! YAY!!! Oh joy…oh happiness…oh no!!!!! There is no one to play with . Alex is busy studying for midterms. Whats a kid to do?????  Luckily Scooter had some time on his hands( errr…I mean paws) so he kindly agreed to sit in this one time.  I’m not sure if you get a points handicap if there are whiskers in the way of your controller. Jon seemed pretty happy so I didn’t bring it up. Scooter seems to be fitting in pretty well. We haven’t had any WWF kitty smackdown brawls . They just kind of walk around giving each other the STINK EYE.  I take this as a positive sign that it won’t be long before we are one big happy family!

At The Beach….

This mini has great bright colors and funky patterned paper from Scenic Route. This book would be great for vacation pictures!!!

Awesome wave paper. Lot’s of room for pictures and journaling. These stickers are also from Scenic Route.

This set of pages has a pocket behind the surfboard print.

Another pocket behind the stripe. Lovin the fish paper!!!!! Hang Ten says it all!!!

No shirt…no shoes…no problem.  If only it were not 4 degrees out this morning hahaha. This book has such a great summer appeal. It also has additional stickers to use as picture tags. That will be a nice added detail to this fun mini!

Four Legged Friends….

These are my neighbors at Polly’s. Okay Katie and Jeff Beemer are my neighbors and these are their Great Danes!!!!! I just love em.  You would think that 2 huge dogs in a scrapbook studio would be a disaster waiting to happen….but they are so well behaved. I am certain that I knock more stuff on the floor than they do. Diesel and Dually. Think I spelled that right.  These beasts are so sweet and lovable…they won me over…and I am a cat person so you know they must be well trained. Wonder if Katie could train my cats????

Spring is in the air…

Okay…it’s only wishful thinking. I did

think spring though when I picked out

colors for this sweet little book. Cute bird

too right???

This set of pages has more of the paper

I used on the cover. I added a pocket and

a coordinating paper mat for a picture.

That’s Websters Pages paper on the pocket.

Another pocket on this set of pages…

and a cute dimensional bloom sticker.

The paper on the pocket and right hand

page is from Crate Paper. Vintage print

with modern colors! Best of both words.

This time I added a nice coordinating

stripe to the pocket and page. Pretty blue

paper and a vintage graph sheet. Would

look nice with some journaling right on

the page! Another cute dimensional

sticker with a birdie!

This is a very cheerful set of pages don’t

ya think??? I’d like to get cushions for

my outdoor furniture made with that strip. lol

I liked that stripe enough to put it

on the back cover. Now if it would just

get warmer outside…we could have some

pictures of spring to put in this little cutie!!!

Congratulations it’s a…….

Scooter????? This sweet little(okay maybe not so little) guy just became part of our family.  He was first adopted by the Jackson family from the animal rescue. When they got him home….they discovered that they are allergic to him : (  Long story short…a friend had shared with them that we were missing our sweet Polly that just past away. They appealed to me to take in “kitty Joe”. How could I say no to that face???

Since this is a fresh start for him we felt that a name change was in order….and after a family vote we settled on scooter. As you can see Scooter loves him some food. He is a big boy…but a real baby.

He also loves him some Kenny. Could this be love at first sight???? Awwww.  Yes that is Jon in the background. Yes I know he needs a haircut. Please do not post comments. Yes Mom…this means you. Just kidding! : )

He tried to sit in Jon’s lap but unfortunately Jon does not have enough lap for that much cute kitty to get comfortable on.  Things went pretty well when we got him home to meet his new brother and sister. It will take some time…but they will learn to get along and be friends. Thank you to the Jackson family for helping us to keep sweet Polly in our hearts and open our home to Kitty Joe Scooter.

A Blessing and a Curse….

Getting ready to head into the shop to finish a lovely book I started yesterday.  I think it may be one of my very favorite projects I have made so far.   The blessing is that I love what I do…..I put a lot of myself into the things I create.  I surround myself with my stashes of treasure…little bits and pieces and find a way to bring them together. The end result is often that I get very attached to things I have created with the intent to sell.  Don’t get me wrong… I am in no way complaining….but when favorite items sell…it is a bit sad to let them go.  Yesterday a favorite patron of Polly’s selected three lovely treasures from my shop.  The curse….however happy I am that someone has selected  an item to purchase…it means that I won’t have it anymore.  But I will not grieve the loss of my treasure….for letting go means that my work is never done!
